i say throw it in the oven because it does get the oil out. if ur worried about the whole drawing the resin out of the ball its impossible to get it all out so the ball will still hook really well. i did that yesterday and went bowling and the ball really bit the lane i really liked

When you want to go to say 500, you can just go to 500. Its only when you want to go to 500 to 2000-4000 that the steps are needed. But with the new bowling balls you don't need to spend a lot of time while sanding the balls. 45 seconds per pad is all it takes. Most people over do it. But to answer your question about when to replace the ball. Well once you have sanded the serial numbers off. But you can use the Ebonite Hook Again to pull the oil out of the ball and get the ball back to 99.8% of the box hook. Its safe and it works. Thanks again.
